On May 31, 1945, Taipei—then known as Taihoku under Japanese rule—was devastated by a massive air raid carried out by more than one hundred bombers of the U.S. Fifth Air Force. The attack caused heavy casualties and left tens of thousands homeless. Although it was a real event during World War II, this tragic chapter of history remains little known.
In the game, players step into wartime Taiwan as members of a single family who have just lost their home after a bombing. Surrounded by danger and uncertainty, the family must support one another to survive. At the same time, each character has personal dreams, relationships, and responsibilities that they strive to fulfill amid the chaos of war.
Raid on Taihoku is a cooperative game that portrays the human experience of war through the lens of ordinary civilians. Until the war ends, players share the same fate: if any family member dies, everyone loses. There is no opposing army or villain—only the harsh reality of war itself.
