MODERN TIMES , centering around the charming Little Blue Robot. This immersive spectacle of light and kinetic music humorously and satirically responds to Charlie Chaplin’s 1936 classic Modern Times, asking: what would life look like if the Industrial Age and the AI Revolution happened at the same time?
Staged under the 19-meter-high luminous venue at the National Taichung Theater, Modern Times is a whimsical factory of “retro-futurism” that brings out the child in everyone. While the Industrial Age often evokes the image of humans being reduced to mere cogs in a machine, here, our Little Blue Workers aren’t just laboring—they’re dancing, playing music, and mastering the rhythms of assembly, turning conveyor belts into musical staves. Humor wraps around a deeper melancholy, transforming the routine of screws and bolts into an artistic party.
