The TTC Studios previously produced the mobile game “Her and You and Her” based on the structure of a 90s Gal Game (or Bishōjo Game). An underlying lethal twist, where the girl was transformed from a dream lover into a terrorizing control freak, was however hidden in the gameplay. Drawing on this game, Ting-Tong Chang collaborates with director Liu Chia-Hsin, recipients of the Best Audience Award at Berlin IntelFilm Festival (2016) and Best Film Award at Women Make Waves Film Festival (2016), to subvert the traditional male gaze and to rewrite from a female perspective. The transformation of the Gal Game into a real person’s story not only changes the existing viewing logic but also overturns the male-centric viewpoint.
