2024 Ars Electronica Festival
“ Taiwan Creative Content Agency (TAICCA) plays a decisive role by promoting Taiwan’s creative industry and networking it internationally. The collaboration between Ars Electronica and TAICCA thus leads to intercultural exchange. This collaboration gave rise to various formats – from mentoring to workshop sessions organized in Taiwan. From this dynamic and interactive process, Taiwanese artists will bring exciting projects and socio-critical questions to the Ars Electronica Festival in 2024. ” Quote from Ars Electronica Festival's blog ‘From Taiwan to Austria: Expanding artistic horizons’

- DEMO Section:
- Project Title: The Heart of the Machine: Virtual Realms X Machine-Controlled Puppetry - A Dialogue Between Glove Puppetry and Body Data
The project explores the future possibilities of puppet theater by transforming puppets from virtual characters to mechanical puppets. Using IoTtalk IoT and Quanta's QOCA technology as the technological core, the performance integrates various advanced technologies such as virtual reality, interactive projection, mechanical hands, and heartbeat data detection with traditional puppet theater. The work transcends the conventional boundaries of performance space, translating the beauty of traditional puppet theater gestures between the virtual and the real, as well as between the body and data. - Creators:

- Chun-Cheng HSU / Professor in the Industrial Design Division of the Institute of Applied Arts at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University
