Using the advanced sound technologies of the IRCAM-Centre Pompidou, Blanca Li and composer Édith Canat de Chizy drew inspiration from the emblematic tale L'Ombre by Hans Christian Andersen in which a scholar offers his shadow the possibility of taking on life and autonomy, freeing it from darkness, until it ultimately surpasses him.
The evident resonance with our contemporary world and its innovations, both troubling and fascinating, led choreographer Blanca Li to imagine this hybrid creation. Facing the dancers of the Compagnie Blanca Li and a percussionist, the audience wanders, equipped with a VR headset, in a fantastical universe that blurs perceptions and questions notions of good and evil or identity.
