The Contemporary Legend Theatre transformed its widely acclaimed 108 Heroes—The Final Battle, the third episode of the Water Margin Trilogy, from a stage performance into an interactive production combining live actors with digital virtual images. In collaboration with the internationally renowned, award-winning 3D animation and film production team Hytree Studio, the production was filmed using three high-end 4K cameras and incorporates digital technology to present 23 scenes, breaking down the fourth wall and seamlessly blending technological effects with elements of fantasy, warfare, mythology, adventure, and romance. The innovative blend of traditional theatre, smart technology, and immersive experiences breaks the boundaries between different art forms, immersing the audience in the epic grandeur of the Water Margin. In interactive scenes, the actors transcend the lines between reality and virtuality, delivering a masterful performance that offers a rich, multi-sensory experience.
